Some of us remember the past efforts of TWU to organize the Dealers in Las Vegas. They were even voted in at the Tropicana and at the New Frontier. The New Frontier Dealers DID get a contract signed! However, that hotel has been imploded for future development. Unfortunately, the Union Drive back then was not very successful, for several reasons. The main reason was because the Organizers did not do their jobs. Those people are no longer involved in any organizing activities with the TWU. Also, the TWU has a new President, James C. Little and also a new Organizing Director. They are dedicated to organizing the Dealers of Las Vegas, not just those at "The Wynn" and "Caesars Palace". Organizing drives cost money, lots of it. The TWU is ready and willing to spend the money it is going to take to get us all together! So many times we have gotten "taken" by our own employer, whoever the owners were. We lost benefits, people lost jobs and so forth. Yet we still give them a chance to do good by us, and they continually fail. TWU is asking for just one more chance. They will not fail us this time! They are "labor", they are on our side. Let's give them the chance. If we don't, the day will come when we will all be saying "We should have organized long ago" (like we are saying now actually).
