To show you how things have changed in our industry since voting
union read "shop steward thrown out" on the TWU website.

It is a great example of something that hasn't been completely
established yet. Shop stewards are going to help when a dealer is going to
be called in to be disciplined. Caesar's will have to accept them once
their contract is done.
We, at the Golden Nugget, could have benefited from a Shop
Steward. A roulette dealer was suspended pending investigation when money
was grabbed off of his table. When brought in, he did not mention several
things that would have helped his case.
For example: The roulette table is in poor position relative to
the door. There is no plastic barrier to keep people from grabbing
chips. There is no easy way to get the attention of the one floor
supervisor who can be on the other side of the long pit.
Rumor has it that he got in trouble for not telling the floor
supervisor that a man was standing looking at the wheel for a long time.
Ha! What a laughable reason to get in trouble and an awesome example of an
out of control management!!
Join the Union now. Protect your job from random events
that you have no control over.

I went into your Casino with a few of my friends last Monday ,we
were all wearing our red TWU shirts. Looks to me as if you all have the
best job downtown .I would protect it and join with us all

Good Move Golden Nugget Dealers!
This can be a scary time for everyone, but after you secure your election and
the vote results are "YES" your jobs will become MUCH LESS stressful
almost immediately!
You will all go through several "phases" from here on out. Management
will try to pit dealer against dealer. They will try to be your "best
friend". They may try to make all of you feel "guilty" for
standing up for yourselves. They will say things like, "We didn't realize
things were bad, let us correct them."
The Golden Nugget has a long history and has been open for decades. They have
had plenty of time to "understand and fix things", but have they? They
have had ample opportunity. It is time for real change. It is time for real
recognition. It is time to be treated as the true professionals you all really
are. It is time for fairness for ALL workers.
I hope to be joining with all of you very soon. Yes, I am a UNION DEALER at
Caesars Palace and will NEVER regret that decision. NONE of you will ever regret
the decision either!

I have to agree with you about management going through
"phases". As soon as the union stuff came out, the dealers' room
got a remodel complete with plasma TV's. All this happening when all
departments were being urged to cut back.

Congratulations Golden Nugget. You have made the first
step towards securing a future for all dealers in Nevada. I pray your endeavors
are successful. I was an In-House Organizer for Caesars and I have never been
sorry. After the vote and we won, it has been a little bit of an adrenalin let
down so enjoy the fight, stay strong and stay united! And finally someone other
than Harrah's is organizing so I can come down there in my red shirt. The red
shirt is a "Vote Yes" TWU Local 721 union shirt.
